A non-breeding summer visitor from the Palearctic, present between Nov and Apr. Fairly common and widespread across the Waterberg, more so in the surrounding thorn savanna (44% in, 56% out; recorded in 65% of the Waterberg pentads); frequents open woodland, avoiding rocky, hilly country; occurs as single birds; conspicuous, often perches along fence lines.
