We are not aware of a definitive list of moths for the Waterberg and the species listed below are probably a fraction of what occurs in the area. These are the species that have been thus far photographed and identified in the Waterberg and they can be viewed by clicking on the species name. As can be seen, relatively few have English or Afrikaans names and the scientific names follow an unpublished species list (January 2020) for South Africa compiled by Herman Staude. Two invaluable references for African moths are AfroMoths and African Moths. Contributions to this list, especially photographs of new species and their larvae, are welcomed.
