This venerable old tree, now about 500 years old, stands in the road reserve alongside the R33 between Modimolle and Vaalwater - it is close to the entrance to the Goat Cheese Farm at -24.5168, 28.2527. As shown in the photo, part of its trunk has been sawn off to reveal no less than 482 growth rings.
