Lagonosticta rubricata African Firefinch Kaapse Vuurvinkie
Probably a breeding resident. Scarce; recorded widely but very sparsely across the Waterberg, and even less frequently in the surrounding thorn savanna (recorded in 22% of the Waterberg pentads); frequents riparian thickets; in pairs or small family groups. Care is needed to distinguish it from Jameson's Firefinch.
