Because of its close association with humans its occurrence across the Waterberg is patchy, being locally common in towns and around large farming operations but largely absent elsewhere (44% in, 56% out; recorded in 39% of the Waterberg pentads); occurs singly, in pairs, or in small groups. Breeds in summer.
