A breeding summer visitor from the tropics, present between Oct and May. Common and widespread across the Waterberg, less so in the surrounding thorn savanna (67% in, 33% out; recorded in 80% of the Waterberg pentads); frequents woodland, especially where fruiting trees are well-represented; in pairs or trios while breeding, otherwise in nomadic groups and, at the end of summer, in flocks. Breeds in summer.
