Cisticola aberrans Lazy Cisticola Luitinktinkie
Marakele National Park, Mar 2018
A breeding resident. Locally common across the Waterberg but largely absent from the surrounding thorn savanna (89% in, 11% out; recorded in 45% of the Waterberg pentads); it is restricted to wooded rocky hillslopes, its confinement to this habitat usually being sufficient to distinguish it from other cisticolas; it occurs singly or in pairs, its presence usually given away by its shrill alarm call. Breeds in summer.
