Cisticola juncidis Zitting Cisticola Landeryklopkloppie
Alma, Jul 2018
A breeding resident. Its occurrence in the Waterberg is patchy: it occurs commonly in open grassland areas, especially where close to damp ground, but is largely absent from wooded or hilly, rocky areas (51% in, 49% out; recorded in 54% of the Waterberg pentads); mostly in the agricultural areas, it is found singly or in pairs; the song of males displaying in summer is what calls one's attention to the presence of this species. Breeds in summer.
