A non-breeding summer visitor from the Palearctic, present between Oct and Apr. Widespread and fairly common, both across the Waterberg and in the surrounding thorn savanna (57% in, 44% out; recorded in 63% of the Waterberg pentads); occurs in any woodland where it frequents the canopies of well-foliaged trees; usually solitary, sometimes in small groups; unlike other Palearctic warblers it is not a skulking species.
