Probably a breeding resident. Rare. Very sparsely recorded in open woodland on rocky, hilly terrain across the Waterberg (recorded in 4% of the Waterberg pentads); occurs singly or in pairs; care is needed to distinguish this species (especially females) from Cape Rock Thrush.
