Probably a breeding resident. Rare; restricted to open, rocky landscapes in high-lying areas in the south and south-west of the Waterberg (recorded in 4% of the Waterberg pentads); singly or in pairs; care is needed to distinguish this species (especially females) from Short-toed Rock Thrush.
