Probably a breeding resident. An arid savanna species. Common in the surrounding thorn savannas, its range extends marginally into the fringes of the Waterberg, especially in the south-west, where outliers of its thornveld habitat occur. As with Arrow-marked Babbler, it is a group-living species, in families of up to 10 birds which maintain year-round territories.
