Riparia riparia Sand Martin Europese Oewerswael
A non-breeding summer visitor from the Palearctic, present between Oct and Apr. Rare, with a few scattered records from across the Waterberg (recorded in 4% of the Waterberg pentads); it occurs mostly as single birds or in small groups; is easily overlooked; usually associated with Barn Swallow flocks and best located by searching through such swallow flocks when they are perched on telephone wires, especially towards the end of summer.
