Delichon urbicum Common House Martin Huisswael
Rankin's Pass, Feb 2019
A non-breeding summer visitor from the Palearctic, present between Oct and Apr. Fairly common in the southern half of the Waterberg, with few records from the north (recorded in 45% of the Waterberg pentads); gregarious, sometimes in large flocks, but nowhere predictably present; they often associate with flocks of Barn Swallows and can be found by searching through such swallow flocks when they are perched on telephone wires, especially towards the end of summer.
