A vagrant. Single birds recorded twice recently: on Lindani in Oct 2018 and on Welgevonden Game Reserve in Oct 2019; a single bird was also recorded on Nylsvley Nature Reserve in Oct 2018. As a breeding summer visitor to the eastern lowveld of South Africa, these are probably instances of migrating birds over-shooting their destinations.
