A non-breeding summer visitor from the Palearctic, present between Nov and Mar. More commonly recorded in the surrounding thorn savannas than in the Waterberg where it is uncommon (31% in, 69% out; recorded in 15% of the Waterberg pentads); occurs singly, mostly encountered perched on telephone or high tension lines along roads.
