Occurs widely across the Waterberg, especially in the east, but seldom consistently present at any one locality, its local movements probably dictated by fruit availability; scarce in the surrounding thorn savanna (82% in, 18% out; recorded in 39% of the Waterberg pentads); in pairs while breeding, otherwise in small flocks. Breeds in summer.
