Cursorius temminckii Temminck's Courser Trekdrawwertjie
Alma, Jul 2020
A breeding resident. Uncommon. Occurs widely but sparsely in open areas across the Waterberg, typically in areas with a very short grass cover, the result of either a recent fire or heavy over-grazing (recorded in 15% of the Waterberg pentads); found singly, in pairs, or in small family groups; there is evidence of much local movement, birds sometimes arriving on freshly burnt ground within hours of the fire. Breeds in early summer.
