A breeding resident. Fairly common. Occurs widely across the Waterberg along the margins of dams, rivers and streams (recorded in 66% of the Waterberg pentads); always associated with damp ground and most numerous in agricultural areas; in pairs or, after breeding, in family groups. Breeds in early summer.
