A breeding resident. Rare. Essentially confined to the vicinity of the largest cliffs along the Sandriviersberg from Kransberg to Hanglip (recorded in 4% of the Waterberg pentads); hunting birds occur solitarily but in pairs while breeding when they are mostly tied to the vicinity of nest sites on high cliffs. Breeds during Aug-Nov.
