Poer-se-Loop, Jun 2018

Resident. Scarce, with probably fewer than 20 pairs in the area. Occurs sparsely throughout, usually as single birds, sometimes as pairs or family groups. Feeds on frogs and fish in dams and along streams and rivers. Widely scattered pairs breed erratically, often missing years, in winter. They nest on a cliff ledge and some sites are known to have been in use for decades.
