Fishing alongside Little Egret
An erratic visitor. Uncommon. Single birds occur widely but erratically on the larger dams in the area (recorded in 18% of the Waterberg pentads). Not known to breed in the Waterberg but in years of high rainfall large numbers breed nearby in reedbeds along the Nyl floodplain and these are perhaps the source of the area's visitors.
